| Reliability and Validity
SRLS scales have been factor analyzed to verify validity and reliability. To improve response rate, the original instrument was streamlined to improve response rate, resulting in the 68-item SRLS-R2.
This revised SRLS contains fewer question items, but retains the reliability and validity of the original SRLS (Tyree, 1998). Its validity is supported by Multi-institutional Study of Leadership (MSL) 2006, which used the SRLS-R2 with over 60,000 students.
